A good conversation helps you understand how a provider would approach your care.

How will you understand my needs?

Ask how the team gathers information about your routines, preferences and the support you want, and how you can be involved in your care plan.

Who will deliver the care?

Ask about induction, training, supervision, matching and continuity. Discuss how the team handles changes to your regular carers.

How do we communicate?

Ask who your point of contact will be, how changes are agreed and how to raise feedback or concerns.

Where can I check independent information?

Read the CQC record for the specific service and independent reviews. Check that the record relates to the location and provider you are considering.

This guide provides general information about exploring care. Individual care arrangements depend on an assessment and discussion with your chosen provider.
